Vespasiano, Sergente Maggiore nel terzo di Carlo Spinelli, acquistò fama di valoroso soldato nelle campagne di Portogallo e Navarino; si trovò alla battaglia di Lepanto, difese Castellammare contro i francesi, servì in seguito, col grado di colonnello, la repubblica veneta. Giovan Battista e Benedetto si segnalarono alla famosa battaglia di Nordlingen. Giovan Francesco, in considerazione dei servizi rsi allo Stato ottenne dal re Filippo III di Spagna nel 1650 il titolo di duca di S. Angelo a Fasanella, passato in seguito nella famiglia Capece-Galeota. Altri prodi capitani furono sotto Filippo IV di Spagna, Paolo, Giovan Benedetto, Vespasiano, Giuseppe e Carlo. Andrea, Reggente della Cancelleria, Presidente della Regia Camera della Sommaria, venne, per i suoi meriti, creato duca nel 1726 dall'imperatore Carlo VI. Detto titolo venne in seguito infisso sul feudo di Girasole, posseduto dalla famiglia sino all'abolizione della feudalità. ...
