Nobility crown GottofredoLa nobilissima stirpe dei Gottofredo, il cui nome si rinviene altresì, in alcune fonti, sotto la forma Gottofredi, trae le sue vetuste origini dalle terre del Piemonte, culla di antichi lignaggi e memorie gloriose. Di essa fa menzione l’illustre storico e araldista Commendator G. B. di Crollalanza nella sua pregevole opera "Dizionario storico-blasonico delle famiglie nobili e notabili italiane estinte e fiorenti", tomo secondo, edito in Pisa nell’anno del Signore 1888 presso la direzione del Giornale Araldico. In tale dotta fatica, l’Autore attesta che i Gottofredo furon insigniti del titolo di Conti di Settimo Vittone, nonché Signori di Buronzo, terre che testimoniano l’antico splendore e la nobile autorità esercitata da questa casata nei secoli andati. Il loro motto, specchio dell’animo e dell’onore familiare, suona così: "Divo Iove auctore sequimur acta patrum", che in lingua dei Padri nostri si può intendere: "Con Giove divino quale guida, seguiamo le gesta degli avi". Così si perpetua, attraverso le parole e i secoli, la memoria di una famiglia che seppe con dignità e valore ornare la storia della nobiltà italica. ...
