Nobility crown GramajoDice Jerónimo de Villa que este apellido tuvo casas en las villas de Torrelobatón, Vega y Valdetronco, de la provincia de Valladolid. En la República Argentina hubo rama de la familia así apellidada, de la que fué Juan de Saavedra G., que contrajo matrimonio con doña Elena Lasso de Puelles y Aguirre (hija de Tomás Lasso de la Vega, bautizado en Madrid en 1590, que marchó a las Indias en 1616, estableciéndose en Arequipa, del Perú, desde donde pasó a Córdoba, de la Argentina, siendo allí alcalde, y de doña Elena de Puelles y Aguirre, natural de Santiago del Estero), naciendo de esa unión Juan de Saavedra G. y Lasso de Puelles, Alférez Real y Regidor de Santiago del Estero en 1670, donde falleció en 1719. Casó con doña Ana Díaz Caballero, natural de Santiago del Estero y descendiente del Conquistador de Tucumán, Alonso Díaz Caballero, y fueron padres de Fernando de G. y Díaz Caballero, bautizado en Tucumán en 1670, que tuvo por esposa a doña Mariana de Medina y Montalvo, en la que procreó a Juan Felipe de G. y Medina, bautizado en Tucumán en 1725, esposo de doña N. Argañaz de Murguía, y ambos padres de Juan Felipe de G. y Argañaz de Murguía, bautizado en Tucumán y vecino de Corrientes, que casó con doña María Gregoria Girona y Legal, bautizada en Corrientes el 25 de Mayo de 1801. Fué su hijo José Wladislao Rudecindo de G. y Girona, bautizado en Corrientes el 1º de Marzo de 1828 y fallecido en Buenos Aires el 8 de Septiembre de 1894. ...
