Illustre famiglia Veronese che fu tra le prime ad essere iscritta al consiglio della città nella persona di Pace nel 1409. Divisa da remoto tempo in varie linee, presero tutte parte attiva alla vita cittadina e si resero illustri nelle armi e nelle magistrature. Un ramo che fu decorato del titolo marchionale dal Senato Veneto nel 30 agosto 1787, altro ramo ebbe lo stesso titolo dal Duca di Savoja ed un terzo ramo ebbe il titolo di conte sul feudo di Salizzole.
