De estas dos maneras encontramos escrito este linaje, que debe tener alguna relación con el de Irarrázabal, a juzgar por la casi idendidad de algunos de sus escudos de armas. Esa casa de I. estuvo sita en el barrio de Santa Marina de Ogirondo, antiguo barrio de la villa de Vergara (Guipúzcoa), que hoy forma parte del casco de su población. Otras casas de este apellido radicaron en la villa de Elgueta, del partido judicial de Vergara, y en la de Berástegui, del de Tolosa. En Vizcaya hubo casas de Irazábal, o I., en la antiglesia de Yurre, del partito judicia lde Durango y en la villa de Ibarruri, del mismo partido. Agunos autores afirman que hubo otro solar en Deva pero dicho solar fué de Irarrázabal. De la casa del barrio de Santa Marina, de Ogirondo procedieron: Juan de Irazábal y Zabala natural de Vergara y Caballero de la Ordende Alcántara desde 1639, y Juan Manuel y Julián de Irazábal y de Paz, Caballeros de la Orden de Santiago, en la que ingresaron el 24 de Abril de 1777. ...
