El palacio de Jaureguizar figura entre los más antiguos de Cabo de Armería de Navarra. Se alzaba en el lugar de Irurita, del valle del Baztán y partido de Pamplona. En 1343 lo poseía Lope de J., cuyos descendientes asistieron, sin interrupción, a las Cortes Generales. Son sus armas: De sinople, con un árbol seco de plata, y pasante al pie de su tronco, un corzo herido de una saeta y perseguido por un lebrel. Por referencias de historiadores de la época y otras averiguadas por Araldis en los archivos registrales de ciudades y otros privados, podríamos afirmar, pero no asegurar, que este escudo u otro muy similar a él, apareció inicialmente desde el siglo XI al XIV, particularmente en la repoblación de Estella, fines del siglo XII, siendo una de las familias a residir intramuros de la ciudad.
