On rencontre plusieurs personnages illustres de ce nom. On cite dans le nombre: le sire du Juch, à l'ost du duc à Ploërmel en 1294; Jean, évêque de Léon, mort en 1369; Henri, chambellan du duc en 1419, épouse Jeannette le Barbu. La branche aînée fondue en 1501 dans du Chastel, d'où la baronnie de cette famille a appartenu ensuite aux Gouyon de la Moussaye, Montboucher et Franquetot de Coigny.
