Nobility crown LacquanitiAntica ed illustre famiglia, ascritta al sedile dei nobili della città di Taverna, la quale, da immemore tempo, risulta insignita del titolo baronale. Essa si divise in due rami, l'uno residente in Laureana di Borrello, che aggiunse il cognome Argirò, e l'altro residente in Mileto, ove contavasi tra le famiglie nobili e feudatarie di Mileto, possedendo una terra feudale "in più membri", in contrada Barletta. Come tale, d'altronde, la famiglia viene nominata nel catasto onciario di Mileto, al folio 43, tra i Baroni. Il primo personaggio del casato, di cui abbiamo notizia, è un Ottavio Lacquaniti, fiorente, insieme alla moglie donna Caterina d'Aprile, agli albori del XVII secolo, il quale, nel 1634, era sindaco dei nobili della città di Mileto. Lo stesso Ottavio, inoltre, con il fratello Gio. Batta, istituì, nella cattedrale di Mileto, la cappella di iuspatronato familiare, dedicata a S. Maria della Catena e ai Santi Giovanni battista ...
