Nobility crown LanziLa famiglia è originaria di Bagnorea. Luigi di Leopoldo di Giulio ottenne 1781 l'iscrizione alla nobiltà tuderte; Luigi, abate, nato il 14 giugno a Monte dall'Olmo, fu archeologo e storico d'arte. Furono suoi lavori "Saggi di lingua etrusca" e "Storia pittorica, d'Italia". Dal 1806 fu presidente dell'Accademia della Crusca. Morì a Firenze il 31 marzo 1810. Altro ramo. Originaria di Casteldaldo, terra del contado reggiano, i Lanzi si trasferirono a Vicenza, donde finirono per stabilirsi in Reggio verso il 1300 dove parteggiarono per la fazione dei Bebbi contro quella dei Zoboli e dei Scaioli. Della famiglia non sono pervenute più notizie dal XIX secolo. Altro ramo. Antica e nobile famiglia dell'Emilia Romagna con residenza nella città di Modena.
