Apellido andaluz, descendiente de Don Guillén, Vizconde de Limoges, que vino a España a la conquista de Sevilla, a las órdenes de Don Fernando III "el Santo", por lo que el citado monarca los heredó en dicha ciudad. Jerónimo Gudiel dice: "Ay memoria oy dia de don Guillen en su privilegio que Sevilla tiene, en el que el rey don Alonso X le da por términos a Morón, Cazalla, Ossuna y las dos islas de Cator y Captiel, a donde confirma don Guillen, vizconde de Limoges". Añade Gudiel que le primitivo apellido C. se convirtió en el de Casas, por corrupción, usándose ambos indistintamente. Familias de este linaje radicaron desde muy antiguo en Cataluña y Baleares, siendo heredados en Inca. En Canarias se inicia la Casa de Casaus con Alfón de Casaus, de origen francés, que obtuvo del Rey don Juan II el derecho a la conquista de las Islas aún no dominadas y luego siguió largo pleito con el Conde de Nieble sobre las restantes. Su hijo Guillén de Casaus, ostentó el Señorío de las Canarias, al terminar a su favor en 1430, el pleito con el susodicho Conde de Niebla. Aquel derecho pasó a Inés de Las C., su sobrina, hija de su hermano Juan de Casaus, que casó con Fernand Peraza, que adquirió por permuta la parte de derechos de Guillén en 1445. "De Guillén de Las C. fue hijo Alonso de las C., alcade del castillo de Pliego, que murió sin hijos; y heredó la casa y hacienda de Guillén de las C. doña Inés de las C., su hija, casada con el dicho Hernán Paraza, veintecuatro de Sevilla". ...
