Nobility crown LecarosQuesto cognome navarrese, ampiamente diffuso in America, deriva dal luogo di Lecaroz (di cui prese il nome), dal municipio della valle del Baztan e da parte di Pamplona. Fu stabilita una linea al posto di Narvarte, del Consiglio di Bértiz-Arana, nella stessa parte di Pamplona da cui provenivano le famiglie dello stesso cognome con sede in America. Quattro erano i signori L. che passarono in Cile, chiamati Juan, Pedro, Ignacio e José de L. Juan e Pedro lasciati da discendenza femminile, e José perpetuò fino ad oggi la sua successione da parte della varonia. Questo cognome di L. è così antico che in "Executorial del Baztán", 1748, Santius Joanes de L. e altri appaiono come garanti di una donazione fatta nel 1203 da Calver Sotés e suo figlio pari al Priore del Monastero di Urdan. Nei secoli successivi la L. occupò sempre le prime posizioni di questa valle. Una delle linee cilene riconosce Pedro de L. ed Egózcue come tronco e fondatore, originario del luogo navarrese di Narvarte, che si sposò a Ciga, un luogo nella stessa valle del Baztán. Il 28 febbraio 1656, sposò Doña María Marta de Egózcue, battezzata il 15 marzo 1616, che era signora del palazzo di Cabo de Armería de Egózcue (figlia di Miguel de Egózcue e Doña María de Jáuregui).
