De Guipúzcoa fué esta antigua familia que tuvo casas en tierra de Aya, de partido de San Sebastián y en las villas de Asteasu y Cizúrquil, del de Tolosa. Pasó a Navarra, y fundo otra casa en Vera de Bidasoa. La casa solar de L. sita en la villa de Cizúrquil dimanó de la tierra de Aya, se llamó casa de Pagamendi, y de ella procedió una extensa rama, cuya genealogía puede verse en nuestra "Enciclopedia Heráldica y Genealógica".
