His descendants ruled the republic of Lucca and it is believed that an Andrea Palli was the first to bring the family to Sicily, where, in memory of the homeland of said Andrea, it took the surname Lucchese. The Lucchese family, or also Lucchese Palli, was noble in Palermo, Messina, Naro, Noto, Enna and other cities of Sicily.
