La branche du Velay établit sa filiation depuis: Jean-François, marié à Simone de Pertude dont le fils Louis, enseigne au regiment de Champagne, s'établit à Coubon et laissa: Jacques seigneur du Chastel, marié le 7 février 1666 à Antoinette Terrasse. Autre Jacques, leur petit-fils, conseiller du roi, greffier en chef au sénéchal et siège présidial du Puy, acquit, le 6 décembre 1751, de François-Amable Pradier d'Agrain, la terre et baronnie de Volhac. Il cut entre autres de Jeanne-Marie Beaud: Louis Joseph Hyacinthe qui acheta une charge de secrétaire du roi, maison et couronne de France et vendit, le 11 Octobre 1784, à Pierre de Chardon des Roys la baronnie de Volhac. La branche du Velay a produit: divers officiers; un surintendant du garde meuble a Paris moort en 1792; un lieutenant au régiment de Royal-Crawates-Cavalerie; un coronel d'infanterie, officier de la Légion d'honneur et chevalier de St-Louis. ...
