Pedro Gonçalves de Lara, senhor da Casa de Lara, Conde de Lara, de Mendina de la Torre, de Moromojon, Dueñas e Tariego, confirmou privilégios a partir do ano de 1106, no qual acompanhou o Imperador D. Afonso VI na entrada que fez em Aragão e no sítio de Saragoça, e reinando D. Urraca, filha de deste soberano e mulher de D. Afonso, Rei de Aragão, teve o governo do condado de Medina. Recebeu-se com D. Eva Peres de Trava, viúva de D. Garcia Garcez, Conde Cabreira e de Aza, filha de D. Pedro Froilaz, Conde Trastamara, Monerroso e de Trava, e de sua mulher, D. Maior de Urgel. Deste matrimónio, D. Pedro Gonçalves de Lara houve, entre outros, D. Manrique de Lara, que teve o título de Conde e os senhorios de Molina e Meza, assim como as honras de Ávila, Segóvia, Baeça e Toledo. Foi tutor de D. Afonso VIII de Castela, governador daqueles Reinos e Visconde soberano de Narbona, por sua mulher. Sucedeu na casa paterna, parece que no ano de 1133, no qual principiou a confirmar os privilégios reais. Seviu o Imperador D. Afonso VII, de quem foi alferes-mor, ofício que já exercitava no ano de 1134, e com o o mesmo soberano se encontrou na conquista de Córdova no ano de 1146 e na de Catalunha no de 1147, esta devida ao seu valor.
