Einer stammt vom Monte Marenzo und der andere von einem Marino namens Marenzo de Capitani di Sovere. Von diesem Marino und von gemeinsamer Herkunft mit den Bottaini und den Federici di Val Camonica stammten die Marenzi von Bergamo, Sarnico, Tagliuno und Telgate ab, dann die Adligen und Grafen von Bergamo und die Grafen, Barone und Marquisen von Triest . In Telgate folgten sie den Vavassori im Bereich der Burg. 1560 ließ sich Luigi Marenzi, kaiserlicher Leutnant, Berater von Erzherzog Karl, Hauptmann von hundert Waffenmännern gegen die Türken in Kroatien, in Triest nieder.
