Il vivente Edmondo, ottenne per sè e per i suoi, con successione all'infinito per primogenitura, da S.M. il Re, il titolo di Barone con R.D. motu proprio 9 giugno 1904 e RR. LL. PP. del 10 ottobre dell'anno medesimo. E' nato a Montreaux (Svizzera) da Paolo il 27 luglio 1851. Si addottorò in giure l'8 agosto 1874, nell'Ateneo Torinese; ottenne con Decreto Reale 20 dicembre la naturalizzazione come cittadino italiano. Il 15 febbr. 1875, entrò nella carriera diplomatica percorrendola tutta fino al supremo grado di Ambasciatore. Coprì successivamente posti consolari diplomatici a Smirne, Algeri, Salonicco, l'Arnaca, Cairo, Port-Said, Costantinopoli, Montreal, Lima e New York. Da qui passò a Washington. E' gr.
