Nobility crown MedinillaTuvo este linaje su casa y solar a una legua de la villa de Villarcayo (Burgos). Dimanadas de ésta hubo otras dos casas en la villa de Bocos, del mismo partido de Villarcayo, y en el lugar de San Cristóbal del Monte, del Ayuntamiento de Fresneda y partido judicial de Belorado (Burgos). Baños de Velasco recoge la versión de otros autores, que opinan que los M. proceden del linaje de Ballesteros. Otros dicen que los que moraron en el lugar de San Cristóbal tomaron este nombre por apellido. El mismo autor cree que lo más cierto es que son originarios de Medina de Pomar, a la que llamaron también Medinilla, adoptando por apellido el diminutivo. Pasaron a Ubeda (Jaén) y a Vizcaya. De la casa y solar de Medinilla, de la villa de Bocos, fué Juan López de M., natural y Señor de Bocos y de la casa de su apellido, que se unió en matrimonio con doña María Saravia de Rueda, natural de la casa de Loja, en el valle de Valdivieso, a la que hizo madre de Juan López de M. y Saravia, natural y Señor de Bocos y de la casa de su apellido, que casó con doña Marina de Porras, natural del lugar de Porras, en el valle de Valdeporras y Señora del valle de Valdebesana (hija de Lope García de Porras, natural del lugar de Porras y Señor del valle de Valdebesana, y de doña Juana Enríquez Hontañón, natural de Medina del Pomar). Procrearon a Jerónimo de M. y Porras, del Concejo de Su Majestad en el Supremo de Castilla y Caballero de la Orden de Santiago, en la que ingresó el 7 de Agosto de 1604. ...
