Nobility crown MeloFamília descendente, por legítima varonia, de Pedro Fernandes de Almeida, que foi ouvidor na Índia, para onde fora na companhia do vice-Rei conde de Tarouca, e que, regressando ao reino, casou com D. Isabel Saraiva de Albuquerque, filha de Diogo de Albuquerque, escudeiro-fidalgo, sr. da quinta do Outeiro, em Penalva do Castelo, onde instituiu a capela de S.to António, por testamento de 23.1.1538, e de sua mulher D. Isabel Saraiva da Fonseca. Daquele casal foi filho o dr. Diogo de Albuquerque, ouvidor-geral da India e cavaleiro da o. de Cristo (6.4.1590), morador na ref.a quinta do Outeiro, que do seu casamento com D. Guiomar da Rocha Côrta-Real e Castro, de Coimbra, teve, suc.or, Rodrigo de Albuquerque e Castro, fidalgo cavaleiro da C. R., cavaleiro da o. de Cristo, procurador às Cortes, por Coimbra, etc., marido de D. Maria Toscano, a qual era filha de Bento Toscano e de sua mulher D. Isabel Correia. Deles foi filho Francisco de Albuquerque e Castro, que veio a ser herd.o, foi capitão de cavalos no Alentejo, onde se distinguiu pela sua bravura, e mais tarde tenente-general de cavalaria, sendo também fidalgo da C. R., comendador da o. de Cristo e familiar do S.to Ofício (5.5.1675). Do seu casamento com sua parente D. Luísa Pereira de Albuquerque, filha única de Manuel Pereira de Albuquerque, de Ínsua, e de sua mulher D. Eufémia de Albuquerque, foi filho herd.o João-Rodrigo de Albuquerque e Castro, senhor da casa de Penalva e da quinta da Horta, fidalgo cavaleiro da C. R. ...
