Nobility crown MeneghiniEine alte Chronik der Familien von Castelfranco Veneto sowie die Crollalanza in ihrem "Historisch-Blasonischen Wörterbuch der edlen und bemerkenswerten italienischen Familien" geben nicht an, ob die Familie Meneghini aus Lucca oder Savoyen stammt. Laut Crollalanza wurde die Familie im 14. Jahrhundert erneut nach Castelfranco Veneto verpflanzt. Ursprünglich Savoini und später auch Cerdoni genannt, wurde Meneghini von einem ihrer eigenen bekannt, der Meneghino hieß. Die Mitglieder dieser Familie waren Herren von Godego in der Region Treviso. Eine Andrea rettete 1509 die Heimat vor dem vom Kaiser Maximilian angeordneten Massaker. Ein weiterer Andrea wurde von Heinrich III., dem König von Frankreich, zum Ritter geschlagen, als er 1574 durch Castelfranco nach Venedig ging.
