Antica ed assai nobile famiglia siciliana, oriunda da Corleone (Palermo) ma diramata anche in Ragusa ed in Scicli, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia ma anche d'America. Nel XVI secolo in Ragusa la famiglia era imparentata con il nobilissimo casato Cocuzza. Essa, inoltre, possedette la baronia del Pantano, della quale vediamo investita una Felicia, in data 22 agosto 1746.
