Originaria di Cittanuova dell'Istria, esercitò la mercatura, fece edificare la chiesa di S. Vitale e fu inclusa nella nobiltà nel 1297 alla serrata del Consiglio. Angelo capitano delle galere della Marea quando nel 1483 i Veneziani presero Comacchio; poi nel 1486 podestà e capitano di Feltre, quindi provveditore al Zante, finalmente di Pregadi. Luca, figlio di Angelo, fu mandato nel 1509 alla custodia e difesa della Scala fortezza considerazione nel Trivigiano, e l'anno appresso evve la reggenza della fortezza di Castelnuovo nello stesso territori; reggenza che poi fu sostenuta nel 1511 dal di lui fratello Girolamo celebre nei fasti della beneficienza e della pietà, che insistituì l'Ordine dei Chierici Regolari maschi e dopo morte fu elevato all'onore degli altari.
