Ignoramos si tiene relación este apellido con la parroquia de Mira, del Consejo de Zas y partido judicial de Corcubión (La Coruña), o con la villa de Mira, del partido judicial de Cañete (Cuenca). Se halla muy extendido por España, pues tuvo casas en las Vascongadas y en la ciudad de Almería. De esta última fué Juana de M., natural de Almería, que celebró su enlace con Francisco Rodríguez Ganador, Regidor y Clavero de Almería. Los hijos que tuvieron, así como los descendientes de éstos, se apellidaron siempre Rodríguez de M. Los caballeros de esta familia fueron Claveros y Custodios de la Puerta de la muralla llamada del Mar, junto al convento de Santo Domingo, fundado por los Reyes Católicos (hoy Instituto de Segunda Enseñanza) e Iglesia de la Virgen del Mar, Patrona de la ciudad. Del referido matrimonio nacieron: Alonso Rodríguez de M., que sigue, y María Rodríguez de M., religiosa en el Convento de las Puras, de Almería, con el nombre de Sor María de Santiago, muerta en olor de santidad en 1595. Alonso Rodríguez de M. fué Regidor de Almería y contrajo matrimonio con doña Constanza de Vega y Ortega, sobrina del Deán don Francisco Ortega y de don Juan Ortega, Obispo de Almería. Fué Alonso Rodríguez de M. uno de los ciento cuarenta caballeros que quedaron por pobladores de la ciudad. Dejó un hijo llamado Gabriel Rodríguez de M. y Vega, natural y Regidor de Almería, que casó con doña Constanza de Salcedo, a la que hizo madre de Constanza Rodriguez de M. y Salcedo. ...
