La famiglia Mochi è di Cagli. Fu nobilitata nel 1845 nella persona di Sante (2 luglio 1804, dec. 4 ottobre 1874) e discendente, da Gregorio XVI. Essa ha molti rami di cui si dice al medesimo cognome; cui parleremo solo del ramo di Francesco, figlio quintogeniti di detto Sante. Esso nacque il 21 febbraio 1837 e morì il 10 febbraio 1915. Nel 1864 egli sposò la nobile Orsola Onori di Cagli ultima di sua nobile famiglia che gli impose di rendere per sè e discendenti il cognome e l'arma Onori. Questa nobile famiglia alla sua volta fu erede dei celebri Aldo e Paolo Manuzi, essendo Maria di Paolo suddetto e ultima di sua casa entrata in casa Onori.
