Jahrhundert in Maderno gegründet und dort unter dem Namen seiner Herkunftslandschaft bekannt. Bernardino di Bortolo verbrachte sein ganzes Leben in der Heimat des Landes und setzte sich aufmerksam für die Annexion der Riviera di Salò an die Republik Venedig ein, wo er später Anwalt und Botschafter war. Vom Senat und den Dogen geschätzt und gut angenommen, erhielt er am 6. November 1440 mit Zustimmung der Riviera in edlem Lehen einen Teil der Substanzen für das jährliche Recht von 70 Dukaten, die von Nicolò Zacara aus Malcesine beschlagnahmt wurden.
