Secondo quanto ci viene tramandato, essa giunse però in territorio udinese da Venezia ove era però conosciuta come Nori. Si ritiene sia della medesima agnazione anche la nobile famiglia Noris di Verona, aggregata a quel corpo Nobile nel 1697, in persona di Cesare Noris. Non stupiscano le variazioni cognominali. Occorre infatti notare che non sempre la forma originaria del cognome si manteneva intatta nei secoli con la sua primitiva grafia. Spesso a causa di trascrizioni errate, di trasformazioni dialettali secondo le regioni ove la stirpe via via si portava, della scrittura incomprensibile degli scrivani etc., si avevano modificazioni della fonetica e della grafia.
