Nobility crown ObregonApellido castellano. Procede de Piede Cocha, partido judicial de Torrelavega, provincia de Santander. También en Villaescusa, en la ermita de San Bartolomé, que estaba situada en el barrio del Pino, hubo un escudo sobre cartela de rollos y el campo cuartelago, cuyas armas corresponden a la familia O. Esta ermita fue costruída pro Don Felipe de O. Ayala, canónigo de la Metropolitana de Burgos. En 1684 fue patrón de dicha ermita, su sobrino Don Felipe de O., según consta en el Archivo Historico Provincial, legajo 683. Descendientes de esta ilustre familia pasaron a Asturias, Murcia y América, conservando sus armas heráldicas cierta similitud entre las primitivas y las conedidas por el Rey Don Alfonso IX. Caballeros de este linaje probaron su nobleza en las Ordenes de Santiago, Calatrava, Carlos III y San Juan de Jerusalén, en la Real Chancillería de Valladolid y en la Real Compañía de Guardias Marinas.
