Nobility crown OrrantiaSegún se deduce de la genealogía que contiene el expediente de pruebas de nobleza de un Caballero de la Orden de Santiago, que luego citaremos, este apellido procede del lugar de Orrantia (cuyo nombre tomara) perteneciente al Valle de Mena, en la provincia de Burgos. Pero se da el caso de que en los diccionarios geográficos que hemos consultado no aparece ningún pueblo o lugar llamado O. en la provincia de Burgos, ni en ninguna otra. La genealogía a que hemos aludido es ésta: Blas de O. y su esposa doña Juana de Riba, naturales de Orrantia en el Valle de Mena (así se consigna en el expediente), fueron padres de Juan Bautista de O., que nació en la anteiglesia de Abando, en Vizcaya, y casó allí con doña María Concepción de Garya, de la misma naturaleza (hija de Domingo de Garay y de doña María Concepción de Escauriza, naturales de la anteiglesia de Baracaldo, del partido judicial de Valmaseda, en la misma provincia), naciendo de esa unión Juan Domingo de O., natural de Abando y Caballero de la Orden de Santiago, en la que ingresó el 12 de Noviembre de 1738. Residió en Lima (Perú) y allí contrajo matrimonio con doña María Josefa Leandra de Alberro y Ortega, natural de Lima (hija de Tomás de Alberro y Ortega, natural de San Sebastián, y de doña Eugenia de Marielus, natural de Lima). Tuvieron este hijo Juan José de O. y Alberro, natural y vecino de Lima, y Caballero de la Orden de Santiago con igual fecha que su padre. ...
