Familia muy antigua, residente en Salinas de Léniz y originaria del solar de Bedobañe, o Bedoyabe, en Mondragón. Sus individuos militaron en el bando gamboíno. Juan O. de Bedoya, nació en Mondragón en 1392, casó en 1420 con doña María Ochoa de Berraondo y falleció en la misma villa en 1459, dejando este hijo: Ascensio O. de Bedoya y Berraondo, nacido en Mondragón en 1422, y casado en Salinas de Léniz en 1452 con doña María Pérez de Elexalde. Fueron padres del Contador Juan O. de Bedoya y Elexalde, nacido en Salinas de Léniz en 1456 y casado en 1485 con doña María Beltrán de Galarza. Asistió, a las ordenes del Duque del Infantado, a la guerra de Granada y toma de Loja. Desempeñó el cargo de Contador del Conde de Oñate. Procreó a Juan O. de Bedoya y Galarza, nacido en Salinas de Léniz en 1487 y casado en 1513 con doña Teresa de Leyba. Fué Escribano del Rey y muchas veces Alcalde y Regidor de Salinas. Le sucedió su hijo Miguel O. de Bedoya y Leyba, nacido en Salinas de Léniz en 1516, que pasó a Italia y Flandes. En 1545 casó con doña Marina de Landacaranda, de la que tuvo a Miguel, Marina y María O. de Bedoya y Landacaranda. ...
