El apellido P. en catalán, equivale al de Palacio en castellano, y tuvo en Cataluña antiguas y distintas casas solares. Algunas tomaron el apellido del nombre del lugar de que procedían, pues son varíos los pueblos denominados P. que existen en las provincias de Lérida y Gerona. Una de esas casas de P. catalana ya existía en la ciudad de Lérida en el primer tercio del siglo XIII, y de ella fue Bernardo de P., natural de dicha población, a quien menciona mosén Jaime Febrer en sus Trovas, diciendo que con gentes e su tierra bajó, para ganar honor, contra los rebeldes de Murcia, rindiendo a los pueblos valencianos de Bugarra y Caudete, y que con sus ardides logró grandes acciones. En el asalto de Murcia, salió herido. Y para que se curara y restableciese, le hicieron merced, extensiva a un hijo suyo, del lugar de Gilet, que hoy pertenece al partido judicial de Sagunto y provincia de Valencia. Otra casa de P., muy principal, radicó en la villa de Conques, del partido judicial de Tremp (Lérida). Tenía sepultura propia con sus armas en la capilla de San Lorenzo de la iglesia de aquella villa. De dicha casa dimanó la rama establecida en Barcelona y enlazada con la familia Llorach, barones de Solivella. A dicha rama perteneció Alejandro de P., y Besturs, que casó con doña Orocia de Toralla (hija de Luis Alemany de Toralla, varvesor de Toralla) y fueron padres de Francisco de P. y de Toralla, que en su mujer doña María de Aguilar. ...
