Patrizia e nobile di Messina sin dal secolo decimosesto, il primo di lei personaggio di cui abbiam novella storica certa è un Gio. Domenico Panarello, giudice delle appellazioni in Messina nel 1571. La medesima carica ebbe poi un Andrea Panarello nel 1578 e nel 1586. D'altronde questa famiglia, nel dispiegarsi dei lustri, sempre è riuscita a produrre una serie di uomini che hanno reso illustre il suo nome, nei pubblici impieghi, nelle professioni liberali ed ecclesiastiche e nel servizio militare. Dai nostri archivi: Gasparo Panarello che, nel 1595, fu governatore della Tavola pecuniaria, sempre nella città di Messina; P. La nobiltà della famiglia è confermata dal "Nobiliario di Sicilia" di Antonio Mango di Casalgerardo (Palermo, A. Reber, 1912) custodito presso la biblioteca centrale della regione Sicilia.
