I Pinto sono presenti a Salerno fin dal XIII secolo quando fiorì un Landuldo, giudice di quella provincia. Poi nel 1270 un Ugone fu soldato e "maestro razionale" a Salerno mentre un Sergio fu "maestro" portulano delle province di Principato e "Terra diLavoro" nel 1275.
