Antica ed assai nobile famiglia veneta, originaria della città di Venezia, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. La sua chiara nobiltà è testimoniata dalla sua presenza in fondamentali opere araldiche quali: il "Repertorio Genealogico delle famiglie confermate nobili e dei titolati esistenti nelle Province Venete", di Francesco Schroeder (sec. XVIII) ed il "Il Dizionario storico-blasonico delle famiglie nobili e notabili italiane estinte e fiorenti", del genealogista Giovan Battista di Crollalanza (1886). I primi riferimenti storici al casato si hanno già nel 1379 quando Cristoforo ed Antonio, del fu ser Perazzino, si offrirono di combattere a proprie spese nella guerra di Chioggia, dando anche la paga a trenta balestrieri. Per tal ragione furono ballottati nel 1381 dal gran Consiglio ma non vi rimasero.
