Nobility crown PerlingeiroAntica famiglia campana, di chiara ed avita virtù, la quale, al dir di alcuni genealogisti, discenderebbe della nobilissima famiglia spagnola Berlinghieri d'Aragona. Un ramo di essa, infatti, anteriormente al XIII secolo, giunse in Sicilia, ove, a causa dei soliti fenomeni di fonetica dialettale e/o ad errori di tradizioni manoscritta, iniziò a cognominarsi Berlingiero. Nel 1283, d'altronde, tra i cavalieri di Piazza, rinveniamo proprio un Bernardo Berlingiero. Successivamente, la famiglia iniziò a diramarsi in vari luoghi del Regno delle Due Sicilie e, parimenti, continuò a mutare la forma della sua stessa cognominizzazione. Nel tardo XV secolo, in Salerno, si rinviene la presenza di una famiglia Berlingerio, la quale, però, inizia a comparire anche quale Perlingiero. Si ha, infatti, notizia di un Michele Perlingiero, di Salerno, il quale, verosimilmente, ottenne gli onori ed i privilegi del cavalierato, in seguito alla sua partecipazione, sotto i vessilli aragonesi, alla guerra d'Otranto, del 1481, contro ...
