Ce dernier est une famille patricienne et dogale génoise, qui vit dans la deuxième cinquantaine d'années du XIVe siècle et tout au long du siècle. Le XV est monté au plus haut degré. Reber, 1912) custodito presso la biblioteca centrale della regione Sicilia; (Adorni) "Armorial Général par J.B.Rietstap - Deuxième èdition refondue et augmentée". Note: Famiglia originaria di Genova propagata in Messina ove godette la nobiltà nei secoli XVI e XVII. Si ha notizia di un frate Antonio nella Mastra, nobile del Mollica, lista XIV, anno 1600. La famiglia passò anche in Siracusa ove figurarò prima nel ceto cittadino e vestì la toga senatoria, fra gli altri, nella persona di un Carmelo negli anni 1746-47, 1754-55, 1757-58 e, successivamente, nel ceto nobile e vestì ancora la toga senatoria con un Giovanni negli anni 1796-97.
