O pai da família P. espanhola era Vasco P., que em Portugal era comandante em chefe da Ordem de Avís e era responsável pelo castelo Villaviciosa. Na guerra que Dom Juan I de Castela travou contra Dom Juan, Mestre da Ordem de Avís, pela sucessão no trono de Portugal, seguiu a causa do rei castelhano, defendendo em seu nome o mencionado castelo de Villaviciosa. Perdeu a batalha de Aljubarrota, foi para a Espanha, fundando em Cáceres a casa de sua linhagem com a opulência que sua riqueza lhe permitia. Foi pai de Gonzalo P., Vasallo de los Reyes Juan II e Enrique IV de Castilla e Alcaide del Castillo, da cidade de Alburquerque, na província de Badajoz. Casou-se com Dona Maria Gutiérrez de Valverde e Cerda, que atuou em Cáceres em 1464 (filha de Fernán Gutiérrez de Valverde, Señor de la Torre e Dehesa de Castellanos e Alcaide de Alburquerque, e Dona Mahalda de Cerda).
