Originalmente conhecida como Gozzani, esta família foi dividida em vários ramos, alguns dos quais sofreram alterações no seu sobrenome; entre estes está o de Pozzani. O ramo original foi representado por Giovanni que, em 1670, comprou o feudo de S. Giorgio e em 1673 o de Odalengo-il-grande.
