Nobility crown PraticAntico casato calabrese, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatosi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. L'origine di tal cognominizzazione, al dir di illustri genealogisti, andrebbe ricercata in un grecanico soprannome, basato sul verbo greco "prattomai" (fare, adoperarsi), probabilmente, riferito al temperamento attivo e creativo di un, oggi ignoto, capostipite. In ogni modo, tal casato venne, verosimilmente, fregiato del cavalierato, in seguito alla partecipazione, sotto i vessilli aragonesi, connotata da coraggio e virtù, di un Clemente Pratic alla guerra d'Otranto, del 1481, contro gli ottomani. Ma, d'altronde, la famiglia, sempre, riuscì a distinguersi, grazie agli elevati personaggi, a cui diede i natali.
