Nobility crown RenierOriginaria di Ragusa, si stabilì in Venezia nel 1092, ed ascritta al patriziato rimase esclusa nella serrata del Gran Consiglio. Riassunta poscia, nel 1381, pei meriti acquistati nella guerra di Chioggia contro i Genovesi, ebbe in seguito parecchi senatori gravissimi ed uomini in politica, nelle armi e nelle lettere cospicui, e cooperò alla fabbrica della chiesa e del cenobio di S. Sepolcro. Paolo eletto doge il 15 Gen. 1779 tenne per dieci anni la suprema carica della Repubblica. Con sovrane risoluzioni 30 Nov. 1817 ed 8 Ott. 1818 i Renier furono confermati nell'avita loro nobiltà, ed un Alvise-Melch.orre, cavaliere di Malta, fu decorato del titolo di conte dell'Impero Austriaco con sovrana risoluzione 24 Giù. 1819.
