Quel mattacchione del Conte Giacomo Zabarella, autore di varie opere genealogiche, nel Carosio Overo origine Regia et augusta della Serenissima famiglia Pesari di Venetia pubblicato a Padova nel 1659, scrisse che i P. discendono da Giove Re di Toscana Imperator del mondo padre di Dardano Re di Troja Primo .... e continua con simili stramberie asserendo che la famiglia si trovavano tra i fondatori di Venezia da dove si recarono a Pesaro denominandosi Palmieri. Ed è appunto dai Palmieri in cui comincia la storia accreditata dagli storici e da numerosi documenti sulla famiglia P. Sembra che tra il 1221 e il 1237 un Giacomo Palmieri, console di Pesaro, uomo ricchissimo, come lo furono i suoi successori, siasi stabilito a Venezia, centro in qualche modo sicuro dalle conseguenze funeste delle fazioni politiche; qualche diecina di anni dopo questa famiglia rinnovò la chiesa di S.
