Il primo stemma è tolto da un diploma dell'imperatore Rodolfo del 23 agosto 1578 concesso a Polidoro, riprodotto anche nel vol. "Descrizione delle feste celebrate in Parma l'anno 1769" il secondo è quello usato dal detto Polidoro anteriormente al diploma citato. Famiglia parmigiana, che occupò cariche sotto i duchi di Parma. Da un documento esistente nell'Archivio della famiglia risulta che un Polidoro Rugarlo era castellano e feudatario di Compiano. Un Angelo era alfiere nelle truppe ducali nel 1724; un Carlo, sottotenente nel 1779. Giulio e Gabriele furono creati nobili (mf.) con patente ducale del 27 gennaio 1728. Con decreto del 1822 Maria Luigia, duchessa di Parma, elevò Giacomo e discendenti maschi al titolo di conte. Alessandro (1773-1855), di Gabriele e di Anna Schiattini, dottore in legge, fu nel 1814 creato amministratore dei beni della Corona, quindi intendente della Real Casa e del Patrimonio dello Stato. ...
