Antica ed assai nobile famiglia del Regno di Napoli, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. Questa nobile casata ha goduto nobiltà in tutto il reame, in particolare nel napoletano, nel salernitano e nel casertano. Patrizia di Pozzuoli sin dal XVI secolo, essa fu iscritta con R.D. del 24 novembre 1858 in uno speciale Registro delle Piazze Chiuse. Già in precedenza, ossia nel 1728, era stata riconosciuta nella sua avita nobiltà con privilegio dell'Imperatore Carlo VI nel 1728. Figura inoltre nell'Elenco Ufficiale Nobiliare Italiano, anno 1922.
