En el partido judicial de Granollers, de la provincia de Barcelona, hay un pueblo denominado Tagamanet, del cual es muy probable que sea originario y tomara su nombre este antiguo linaje. Se sabe que tuvo viejo solar en la citada villa de Granollers, y dada la proximidad de ésta al indicado pueblo, no es aventurado suponer que de éste procediera el fundador de dicho solar, del que, a su vez, salieron los fundadores de las ramas de T. que radicaron en Barcelona y Mallorca, según lo acusan sus escudos de armas. En 1356 era Comendador de Lérida en la Orden de San Juan de Jerusalén del Gran Priorato de Cataluña, Martín T. Y con mucha más antigüedad aparece Pedro de T., fundador del solar de esta familia en Mallorca, mencionado por los historiadores Tomich y Dameto. Fué dicho Pedro uno de los varones catalanes de notoria distinción en la corte del Rey aragonés don Jaime I y acompañó a esta Monarca en la conquista de Mallorca. Levantó su solar en la hacienda con que se le premió en el reparto de tierras; le dió por nombre su apellido de T. y dejó descendientes en aquella isla. Uno de ellos, Galcerán de T., juró obediencia y vasallaje, en 1343, al Rey don Pedro IV de Aragón como representante de Mallorca. En 1365 era Jurado de la ciudad de Palma, por el estado noble, Berengario de T. Gozó del favor del Rey don Martí, quien le armó Caballero por sus propias manos el 13 de Abril de 1399. Luego le nombró Generalísimo de la Armada que pasó a reducir a su obediencia el reino de Sicilia. ...
