Antica ed assai nobile famiglia originaria da Castelleone di Suasa (Ancona), nota fin dal secolo XVIII, trasportatasi successivamente in Arcevia (allora Rocca Contrada), dove fu aggregata a quella nobiltà e propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. Girolamo, figlio di Giacomo Filippo, nato 26 dicembre 1727 e morto 15 novembre 1810, sposò la nobile Teresa Gueroli, patrizia di Urbino, ed in tale occasione fu aggregato con tutta la discendenza ed in perpetuo alla nobiltà di Urbino, come da diploma in pergamena rilasciatogli dal gonfaloniere e priori e consiglio dei XL in data 4 giugno 1804.
