Nobility crown TodaroAntica ed assai nobile famiglia del Regno delle Due Sicilie, ben radicata in Monte San Giuliano, Trapani e Palermo, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia e d'Europa. L'origine di tal cognome va ricercata nell'omonimo nome medioevale, a sua volta modificazione del personale latino, di origine greca, "Theodorus", letteralmente "dono divino". Le prime tracce di questo cognome si hanno già nel XV secolo, quando fioriva in Messina il notaio Pietro Todaro. Tuttavia, tradizione vuole che la nobile famiglia Todaro abbia avuto la propria culla in Spagna e che sia giunta in Sicilia, nel 1668, con un Benedetto Todaro y Osorio, cavaliere di San Giacomo della Spada, che fu fatto mastro procuratore e barone di Galia, per concessione di re Carlo II (1673).
