Nobility crown XammarDe Cataluña. Una casa radicó en Medinyá (Gerona) desde el siglo XIV. Ramón VI de Xetmar y de Agullana, caballero, señor de Medinyá Cerviá, Riumors, La Tallada, Saldet, Sant Esteve de Guialbes y Armentera, y su hermano Francisco, fueron caballeros de la Orden de San Juan en 1535. Ramón VII de Xetmar y de Carmona obtuvo privilegio de noble del principado, extendido a toda su posteridad, tanto masculina como femenina, dado por Felipe III, en Tarragona, el 19 de julio de 1599. Al capitán de caballería Ramón X de Xetmar y de Meca, biznieto del anterior, señor de Medinyá, barón de Armentera, etc., el archiduquepretendiente le condedió el título de conde de Cerviá, por real despacho, de 20 de mayo de 1707. La línea primogénita de esta casa recayó en la de los Fontsdeviela, marqueses de la Torre, y la segundogénita adoptó por sucesión fideicomisaria, el nombre de Foixá, y el teniente coronel don Narciso de Foixá-Boixadors-Xetmar y de Miquel, vasvasor de Foixá y de Boixadors, obtuvo el título de conde de Foixá, dado por Isabel II, en real decreto, firmado el 17 de mayo de 1866. Otra casa radicó en la parroquia de Sant Genís de l'Ametlla del Vallés (Barcelona), y uno de sus miembros, Antonio Xetmar o X. perteneciente a la rama de los X. de Baix, fue agraciado, por Felipe IV, con el privilegio de ciudadano honrado de Barcelona, firmado en Madrid, el 5 de agosto de 1656. ...
