En la anteiglesia de Galarza, del Ayuntamiento de Arechavaleta y partido de Vergara (Guipúzcoa). Dice Juan Francisco de Hita, que dentro de la jurisdicción de la casa solar de Z. había una ermita, bajo la advocación de San Pedro. Lorente Iñiguez de Zaloña se halló, según el mismo autor, en la primera de las cruzadas. Son dos casas las que hay en la mencionada anteiglesia de Galarza, una de las cuales conserva en su fachada la fecha de 1674. Por referencias de historiadores de la época y otras averiguadas por Araldis en los archivos registrales de ciudades y otros privados, podríamos afirmar, pero no asegurar, que este escudo u otro muy similar a él, apareció inicialmente desde el siglo XI al XIV, particularmente en la construcción de la casa y la iglesia de Roncesvalles, participando en las obras sufragadas por Sancho el Fuerte de Navarra.
