Antica famiglia di Volterra, appartenente al rango cavalleresco, passata in Siena, nel XV secolo, al Monte del Gentiluomo. Successivamente Alluccio e Giuseppe Allegretti, residenti a Pescia, ottennero l'ammissione alla nobiltà senese, nel 1838. Tal casato, inoltre, nel corso dei secoli, sempre riuscì a distinguersi, grazie agli elevati personaggi, a cui diede i natali.
