Muy noble y rancio linaje de hijosdalgo naturales del señorío de Vizcaya. Tuvo su casa solar muy antigua en la anteiglesia de Dima, de la merindad de Arratia, perteneciente hoy al partido judicial de Durango. Este linaje se ve escrito también B., Velaochaga y Valaochaga. Un caballero del mencionado solar vizcaíno acompañó al rey don Jaime I de Aragón en la conquista de Valencia, donde fundó la rama valenciana de este apellido. Unida en dicho reino con la de Falcó o Falcón, se formó y perpetuó el apellido de "Falcó de B.", con que fueron conocidos sus descendientes. Poseían éstos el señorío o baronía de Benifayó, antiguamente llamada por ello "Benifayó de Falcó", y de ellas es titular el duque de Nochera. Esa baronía se hallaba situada cerca de Valencia, y en su pueblo de Benifayó tenían los Falcó de B. su castillo o fortaleza, que fue vendido, con las tierras que le pertenecían, por el príncipe Pío de Saboya y barón de Benifayó, bisabuelo del ya aludido duque de Nochera. ...
