AFIERO | D'AFIERO

Both very rare, Afiero is specific to Afragola and Casoria in the Neapolitan dialect, D'Afiero is more widespread also in Afragola and in Naples, they should derive, directly or through the patronymic form where the D'- is for son of, from a contraction of the Germanic name Adalferio (see ALFERI).
